They have this small children's zoo and a play area where they can run around and pet a bunch of the farm animals. right in the middle is a large water play area, Connor loved it. Thankfully I had a second pair of clothes for him, He was soaked. All and all it was a great day look forward to doing it again!

Blow Out
Last Friday I was driving from Melissa to a clients house into McKinney on my way to do another Massage, When boom ( what sounds like a small explosion) in my back right tire. My tire blew out;( It was freaky too I was going close to seventy miles per hour on Highway 75 right next to construction when it happened. Unfortunately there was no place for me to pull of the side of the road to get it taken care of, so I had to drive almost a mile to the next exit. I was pretty shocked when I saw how bad the tire looked completely shredded. So thankful that it wasn't more sever and I was safe enough to get off the freeway when it happened.
I was lucky enough to change my first tire;) It took me about 30 minutes to do it, I was all shook en up over the whole thing and stared at for a while in disbelief that it had just happened. By the time I was almost done this nice guy pulled over to help me and see if I was okay and helped me tighten the bolts those suckers are hard to get on and off. I was SO thankful for the help!
Hopefully this was the first and last tire I will have to change. If not I guess it was good practice;)

Half Marathon
For the past 12 weeks or so I have been running, It all started with wanting to do a 5K and then jumping to a 15 k which was so hard. My friend Wendy has run a ton of half Marathons and somehow I got talked into do it! It was hard, challenging and fun all at the same time. I am so glad I did it;) It is completely true when you hear people say running is mental defiantly physical as well, but it messes with your head when you are trying to push yourself to the limit. I work out often too, so running is what seems to challenge me the most. I was not trying to do this to beat a certain time, I just wanted to accomplish it! I am so happy that I did.
The weather was perfect and comfortable most of the time till it hit about 80 degrees at that point I wished the race started a hour sooner. We ran through Highland village it was gorgeous and those homes are unbelievable. It was a beautiful scenic route. The finish line ended at fair view park, where we were give ice cold towels that felt heavenly! I was not doing this for time, but was very pleased with myself when I finished 45 minutes sooner than the time I gave myself to finish!!!!
It is super cool to see so many people come out and support you and cheer you. So many people made signs, through highland park there were people hosing you off as you ran by there house, and of course there were bands playing music every so many miles. Despite that fact that is was physically challenging I would do it again I had a great time and am so glad I did it.
Wendy and me at the start line before the race
We started so far back you cant see the start line anymore. there were 18000 runners
Its was great to see these two cuties cheering me on at mile 8
This was a quick shot while running throw Highland park

5 Years!
This past Saturday the 17th was our five year anniversary. Where has the time gone, I remember thinking on our first year anniversary that five years is so far away, and now it has already passed. Time fly's when you are having fun! I am so incredibly grateful to be with my best friend who totally gets me for who I am and is my rock and always there for me. He is my own personal comedian who keeps me laughing, my shoulder to cry on and my companion to push me forward when things are rough. I am so happy to call you my husband Gerret, I cant imagine my life with you!

Latest with the Connor man
Its hasn't really felt like winter lately her in Texas thank goodness for that too. Its more like California weather at least to me it is, in the 60s- 70s all week and this next week it will be the same:) Makes me happy!! I am a little nervous what this summer will bring since we aren't getting much of a winter here oh well I wont worry about that yet. Since we have been able to enjoy outside much more we have taken full advantage of that. Going to the park, on walks and enjoying my time with the little man. He has been full of energy and doing circles around me. these are some of his favorite things to do as of lately.
He does this everyday now where he will take as many of his balls that he can along with his blocks and put them in his crib.
He loves getting on those bouncer animals at the park, along with the swings and chasing after other kids balls!
He defiantly enjoys being my little shopping buddy when I have to run Aron's or go to the store.

5K
It has been one of my goals to run a 5k this year. I got to do that on Saturday the 11th. with the Dallas Hot chocolate race. Its a a funny name but, it is sponsored by Ghiradelli's chocolate, I cant think of a better way to end a race and get some Chocolate!! I loved it. I gotta say though I think we picked the coldest day of the year to run it. It was 22 degrees when we started. Holy Cold. I felt like I was running naked for the first part till I warmed up. We ran with some good friends of ours Sean and Becky. It was fun to have a running buddy for this one.
Taken just after we finished

I thought this one was cool, taken during the race over the bridge.
there was over 5000 people running it.
I had a great time doing this 5K and look forward to doing it again next year!
