Excuse everything being out of order I don't have the patience to go back and re do it all. I lost it once so I wanted to get it all on here for now.

This December went by so quickly I felt like there wasn't enough time to get fully into the Christmas spirit. For the holiday we were able to travel to California to spend it with Gerrets family! Connor and I flew out on the 13th and gerret drove out a week later. The day before the flight Connor came down with a high fever:( I was lucky to get him in that same day and turn out... A double ear infection "NO Bueno" at all. I was very nervous to fly with a sick kid and have his ears hurt while flying on a plane with all the pressure changes. Answer to my prayers! He was so good he wasn't bothered at all by his ears the whole time. Very thankful for that. was afraid by the end of the flight that everyone would hate us. Fortunately it didnt turn out that way.
We hung low the first few days till Gerret got in. walked on the beach, grandma and grandpa enjoyed lots of time with Connor. They demanded that we leave him with them. We Happily obliged;) gave us of time to do some Christmas shopping, visit with friends and family that we don't see, go on some dates, go to the temple, see some movies we wanted to see and hit up some restaurants that Texas doesn't have. I was able to visit my grandma, unfortunately she has demensia and didn't remember, but it was still nice to have her meet Connor.
On Christmas eve we all went to the festival of lights at Del Mar and out to dinner at Red Robin then played Santa after Connor went to bed. Christmas day it was fun to watch connor get overwhelmed with all the wrapping paper and toys. He didn't really play with them or get to enjoy them untill the end of the day when everything calmed down. We had a great dinner and a relaxing day with the family. We decided to leave before New years since we had to drive back. We drove through Phoenix to see our good friend Carlynn and Matt, and get to meet there adorable little boy who is about the same age as Connor. It was so nice to see them! We meet Carlynn back in New york and its great to still keep in touch with them.

Thanksgiving, Baptism, and a Blessing

This year for thanksgiving we all headed over to my parents house and enjoyed the deep fried turkey together!!! It was great to see family that came from out of town and watch all the cousins hangout! Its always a busy day but so much fun. I always feel like I need to do a cleanse after thanksgiving food. Its all amazing but so heavy and lets be honest we all over eat on that day or for the next 2- 3 days (leftovers!)
I am so thankful to be close to family and spend time with each other during this season of gratitude. My heart feels so full for the many blessing that we have and I try to always count them each and every day. To try and do that everyday of the year and not just on thanksgiving. I love my savior and the gospel and thank him for a wonderful husband and son who bring so much happiness to my life.
Over the long weekend we also had a baptism and a baby blessing. So many great events, glad we could be apart of it!

Cruise to Mexico

This last October Gerret and I were able to go on a cruise to Cozumel and Progresso Yucatan Mexico with our friends Sean and awesome wife Becky! It was a very much need escape from work, school and more work. I am incredibly grateful to my parents for watching the little man while we were gone for the week. I though it was gonna be a little bit more difficult to leave him but after about a day I gotta say with was Wonderful!!! Don't get me wrong I missed the Monkey but, was still a great break.
while we were in Progresso we went to the Chichen- Itza ruins. They were beautiful and one of the seven wonders of the world. Our tour guide was very informative about the Mayan ruins and there history down there. They were still excavating close to the ruins. and are still discovering more underground that they haven't gotten to yet.

We got to Cozumel and the beaches were beautiful, the water was warm, the sand was white, fish tacos, and there was shopping! what more could you ask for;) This was a fun day. we were persuaded into renting a scooter. which was really fun glad we did, and we cruised down the coast a little bit to a beach that had a pool, shopping and a restaurant. we laid out there for a few hours and just relaxed it was awesome I did not want to leave that spot.

This was the first time I went on a cruise and it wont be the last. It really is a great way to vacation see parts of the world and relax, and have everything taken care of for you. So glad we could go and already looking forward to our next one!!!!

Morning Run

I have been really pushing myself to get out of bed first thing in the morning and work out. That's my time to do something good for me and De-stress. I know if I don't do it then, it wont be happening that day. It was pretty chilly this morning but, absolutely beautiful out. so glad I was able to find the drive in me to get out this morning to get a picture of this during my run.
totally made me appreciate all the beautiful things God has created and for gorgeous sunrises:)

Time

Lately it feels like time is flying by so fast, and I hate how the stores already have Christmas decorations out before Halloween. Cant we enjoy each season! I for one have difficulty taking the time to be content with each new thing that happens. whether its with Connor or Gerret, my business or just life in general. I am always pushing and thinking about what comes next and how to get there. Its something that's a work in progress for me. With this feeling of time speeding up I am going to try and be better about enjoying each phase or schedule and look for the good in all of it. Its challenging and easy to get wrapped up in the day to day tasks. Gerret has a very busy schedule not allowing for lots of time together and with my growing business which I am so thankful for. I don't step back and allow myself to feel joy in all that we do have.

I love and am so grateful to my father in heaven for all the blessing even the ones that.... I will just say it don't feel like blessing at all. I do know that there are lessons in everything and the lord will teach them to us one way or an other. I am grateful for a loving family and a husband who works so incredible hard at his job and is always trying to excel in his job and in himself, who loves Connor and I so much. I am blessed by being able to fall in love with another little man who has stolen my heart, who is teaching me much patience;) and is so much fun to have in our home and family I cant imagine my life without him. I am fortunate to have the ability to be a stay at home mom and have the skill to work on the side to help carry the load. I love what I am able to do and make a direct impact on someones life and health. I am thankful to be here in Texas. I miss California but, there are so many great things about being here that I know at one point if we do ever leave Texas, its gonna be really hard.

This turned into what I am grateful for post which allowed me to really contemplate whats important and that is family and our savior and gospel because without him and his sacrifice we wouldn't have much. I am gonna enjoy this moment and the time that I have to take it;)

Time for a hair cut

Connor has tons of hair! Its crazy in the morning and after every nap it has been getting a little out of control look like a little Albert Einstein. I have been reluctant to cut it because its so cute long and shaggy. I decided with the holidays coming and us getting ready to go out of town in december it was time for a trim. well the girl I go to for my hair Beth she is awesome! took off 2 inches of hair on his head. she said she has never taken that much hair off a one year old before;) He did a great job during the whole process. I must say to he looks so handsome and clean cut now;) I love the look and feeling of your hair right after a cut so healthy and shiny.

Trick or Treating!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! We certianly did this year. I normally dont get into Halloween so much at least since I was a teenager I haven't gotten into it. With kids though its so much fun and cool to get them dressed up! We went over to my brother house this year to go trick or treating in there neighborhood. It ws a super fun night we had chilli and cupcakes before heading out. We went trick or treating with superman, Thor, a cowboys cheerleader, and my monkey.The only one that really understood what was going on was Thor a.k.a Ethan. Next year Connor will have better grasp on whats going on. Looking forward to next year, I already know what we are all gonna be! Thanks Danny and Veronica for having us it was a great night;)

Pumkin Patch

I love, Love, love this time of year. So many fun holidays lots of time with the family and fun traditions to do. In the spirit of the fall season we went to a pumpkin patch and it was Ella's 2nd Birthday!! It was some what of a trek to the pumpkin patch but, I will say I was impressed. Its so cute and will worth the drive. We will be adding this to tradition list for sure. There was a petting zoo, hay ride and a wagon ride as well, and plenty of pumpkins all over the place! Ella seemed to have a great time as well. Happy birthday Ella!!!!

Connors Birthday at the Park

I cant believe Connor will be one tomorrow. Where has this year gone. We were able to celebrate the big "ONE" at the park with family and a few friends. He enjoyed the swings, walking around on the grass not knowing what to think of his shadow, and of course his cake! He mostly rubbed it all over his face and hardly got any of it in his mouth, but we loved watching this first for him!
We are so fortunate to have you in our family Connor, we love you SO much. This year we both have grown in many ways and I look forward to what the next year brings!

He is walking

Connor started walking about three weeks ago and he is pretty much running now. well not quite, he gets super excited now that he is moving and builds his momentum and his legs have a hard time keeping up with him. He is literally tripping all the time. This poor kid has so many bruises and scrapes now.
He has discovered a whole new world now that he is totally mobile. He can now climb onto the couch, open doors, attempt to climb into the bath tub, climb up the stairs this one is scary, and as always get into anything he sets his eyes on.
I cant believe this little boy is gonna be a year old on the 11th of this month. where did this year go? I still feel like we only had him a few days ago.

Not so crafty

I do not have the crafty hand for projects. Its something that I would like to develop a hobby for, it just takes time and money. Two things I am very particular with now. My friend Rachel is the craft queen and is very talented in that avenue. So we had a little craft day where she showed me how to make some cute onsies with ties, along with cheap frames from Ikea and jungle animals to go along with Connors room.

Love how easy these Tie shirts turned out and how super easy they were I have some cute gift Ideas now;)

The Animal frames where easy but only because they were done on a Cricut. something I would like to get in the future. They pretty much do all the work you pick the paper and design put the cartridge in pick the dimensions and let it do all the cutting.
Love my little projects! So excited to do more soon;)

I mentioned in a previous post that Connor always crawls around with a toy or dragging something along side of him. Well this is his new favorite thing to keep at his side

lately he has been crawling around with this stuffed Hershey kiss bag I got Gerret while were dating as one of his valentines gifts. I guess Connor is putting it to go use now;) glad we didn't get rid of it. He loves that kiss;)

Summer family fun!

Our family doesn't get together very often so when we do and can, we always have a good time together with lots of laughs. My brother and beautiful family came up from Houston and we were able to do some fun things while they were here. Its really nice to see all the cousins playing and the little ones playing too! We were able to have plenty of pool time, sprinkler parks and the Aquarium, and of course BBQ s and lots of food! Things tend to be centered around food in our family as I am sure its that way in most;) We went to the Aquarium that just opened called Sea Life in the Grapevine mills mall. It was fun a small place, but cool to see once every few years. When Connor gets older and can actually point to a fish and understand what it is, we can take him again. Here are some pictures of our fun week with the family in no particular order. Can I just say it is really hard to get a picture with all the kids together so the one I have was the best I could do. Something to work on for next time;

I am really bad about blogging when stuff happens around here so I guess I am catching up. Gerret's birthday was may 5th which fell on a Wednesday so he was busy with work and young men's. We were still able to do a little celebrating with some friends, Texas hold em and cake! banana cake of course Gerrets favorite cake.
That weekend we went to a Rangers/ Yankee game with some awesome people at the ranger stadium. I had a surprise for Gerret that he didn't see coming. At the 7th inning stretch they do the birthday announcement on the big screen and he was one of them! He also got a bag of goodies with ranger gear and a hat! He was stoked about it. We had a great night and he enjoyed his present. He's not one to be the center of attention but, he certainly enjoyed it that day and he should!

4 th of July!

Hope everyone had a great and safe fourth this year. This is one of my favorite times of the year. the summer warmth being in the sun, barbequing, watermelon and family and friends. We started our day of at our ward breakfast at the park and had the Frisco Mayor speak to us, which was nice and played with Connor on the swings before it go to hot out. I was able to do some shopping for the little man. He is growing so fast, already in 18 month clothes. I was able to find some great sales;) super stoked about that!
We then headed over to my parents for a fun afternoon of pool splashing fun with Ethan and Ella. Connor is loving being in the water and drinking some of the water too;( The kid has probably had about 10 ounces of pool water so far this summer, Gross I know. We had a early BBQ with my parents and then just relaxed the rest of the evening.
It was a great and relaxing time with my family! I am so incredibly thankful to have the opportunity to do the things I enjoy with the people I love and none of that would be possible without the sacrifce those have made and continue to make for our amazing country. We honor and thank you for everything you have done!

Funny little man

Connor is getting so big these days and has such a cute and quirky personality. He makes me laugh so much and we are SO grateful to have him here with us. These are some of the funny little things he does. One of the things he likes to do is sleep on top of his blankets. There hasn't been a night that goes bye since about 5 months that he doesn't bunch up his blanket and sleeps on top of it. I work out in the morning usually after he gets up and has been feed, since we don't have a membership anywhere the gym is usually my living room, He loves to chase me around trying to get my shoes laces, it's pretty funny stuff. when he crawls he usually has to have a object in one of his hands to crawl with. He has just recently started pulling himself up onto the couch, ottoman and the porch door. He is tantalized with staring at trees when we go for walks, but he hates and I mean scream bloody murder when we put him down on the grass. I cant help but laugh at him when it happens. He is also really enjoying play time outside in the pool " thankfully" and kicks and splashes the whole time. we also have a little thumb sucker too, can't fall asleep with out his thumb;( not gonna be fun to break that habit later on. When we make a clicking noise with our tongue he copies and makes right back at you. Connor loves his Daddy and when Gerret gets home he pretty much wiggles so hard out of my arms and into his with the biggest smile on his face. He also loves to say da da and na na. No momma yet but soon enough;) He also in the morning when he wakes up like to jump up and down in his crib and squeal its pretty funny to watch on his monitor. We just adore this funny little man of ours!!! I couldn't not post this picture its just to stinking cute!

At the beginning of May I was fortunate enough to take Connor out to California so he can meet the Montgomery's on Gerrets side of the family! No one has meet him yet so it was a ton of fun to introduce him to all of them. plus he's at a cute and fun age right now. I certainly enjoyed time spent on my old stopping grounds and seeing great friends!
Connor and I covered lots of ground and people while we were in town. visiting Grandma and Grandpa Montgomery, a few of Gerrets brothers and family, Cousins, nieces and nephews along with my brother and friends of ours. We love having so much family and friend's out in California still. makes for a great trip when we go back. I wasn't great at getting pictures as I am always bad about that, but here are a few of the ones I did get. It was a very busy 6 days of time with grandma and grandpa, family dinner with cousins, brothers, beach, late nights with friends and of course lots of play time for Connor! Thanks everyone for making this a great trip, We look forward to seeing you all again at Christmas!

Happy Mothers day to my Mom and my Mother n law! If it weren't for you I wouldn't be where I am now. and for that I am so thankful for your love, support and true genuine friendship.
My mom is a a very sincere loving person who you can just sit back and laugh with. My mom has always been a great listener to me and my struggles.I know she worked very hard and trying to raise six children in the gospel. which I am realizing it's no easy task in today's world. I am already beginning to have fears and worries that are way off in the distant future. I am guessing that's part of being a new mom. I am so thankful for my moms example of what is right and wrong she has always been so grounded in the truth. Love you mom!

First time for everything

Over this last weekend Connor Gerret and myself were able to go down to Houston for a getaway weekend and visit with my brother Eric and his family. We had a blast! Very relaxing and enjoyable time with them. The weather was perfect and the company was great. Over the weekend Connor had many firsts, such as going on our first road trip together, going on the swings and going to the beach down at Galveston. We have done many, many road trips since Gerret and I have been together and consider ourselves Pro's. We weren't so sure how things would be with a 6 month old in the mix, but he did well for the first time.
We were able to take Connor to this super nice park close to my brothers place, where Connor got to go in the swings. He enjoyed it we think by some of the expressions on his face. We also were able to make it down to Galveston with him as well. He did great when we put his little feet in the cold water for the first time Although it was pretty windy we still made a good experience out of it.

We loved being able to do these fun milestones with Connor and look forward to many many more as he grows. Thanks again Eric and Amy for the great weekend Connor sure enjoyed all the extra attention form his cousins!

Since the weather has been in the mid 70's to low 80's we thought it would be a great time to go to the Dallas Arboretum. we went a few weekends back and It was gorgeous out, the spring flowers are absolutely beautiful. I love this time of year for that reason, everything is in bloom and ravishing with color. Here are some cool pictures of the flowers.

Latest happenings

January and February just flew by in the blink of an eye practically, and now we are half way through march where has the time gone? I will tell you where. Connor, working, massage, playing, birthday, Valentines day, sleeping and Connor again. This little man who is not quite so little anymore has been growing and reaching some sweet milestones. He can now roll over in both directions, we stated on some solids ( rice cereal) he has only had it a few times we are taking it slow. started cutting teeth not one but two at the same time;( I have been a little nervous about this coming, I am still nursing and I don't want to be bitten. We will see I will take it one feeding at a time. I am not quite ready to ween him yet and I am really enjoying it now. For now I will try not to let myself stress over it until something happen. He has been sleeping longer stretches at night and loves to hang out with mom and dad and smile whenever he get the chance.
We celebrated my 26th birthday in February with some good friends at the cheesecake factory and then at the bowling ally it was a super fun night!
Gerret has been very busy with work and the young men and scouting he gets to go on a camp-out once a month with the scouts. It seems to keep him very busy.
We are looking forward to spring and some great outside weather. Along with spring we are approaching our 4 year anniversary tomorrow St. Patric's day. I am so blessed to have been able to marry my best friend. He makes me laugh all the time still, is the most diligent and hard working person I know and such a great dad to Connor. It has been fun to see how he interacts with him and how incredibly much he loves that boy. I love you so much Gerret for the man, husband and father you are. Happy Anniversary!

Changes

It is amazing to me the many changes that baby's goes through and how very different they look each passing week. Connor is only three and half months old, but I am blown away by how different this kid looks and how much he has grown already. He is just under 17 pounds now and smiles all the time, along with squealing in delight at his toys. He is now starting to grab his toys and really focus on objects. we call him our prairie dog because he is constantly turning his head to look in every direction. He has become so alert and noticing the new thing in his world. He is also sleeping better at night and doing 6 to 8 hour stretches Hallelujah ! We love him SO very much, and I am really enjoying being able to watch him grow and develop. It's exciting to see the new things he does and the milestones he reaches.

Date Night

Now that we have a baby One our new years resolutions was to make sure we go on a date at least once a month, and we take turns planning it every other month. This months we got to go to the Dallas Maverick and LA lakers basketball game at the American Airline Center. Gerret scored some sweet tickets from work. We had awesome seats in the executive suite with dinner served. We had such a great time, and I totally enjoyed the game. It was the first time I had ever been to a professional basketball game before and I loved it. I am starting to really like basketball now. There were no moments were it dragged, the pace of the game is perfect. I guess normally I get bored with certain sports it just seems like it takes forever to do anything. I am not one to appreciate the game like other sports fans. I need something to keep my interest and basketball certainly did. the Mavericks Won 109 to 100 it was a sweet game to see live. Thanks babe for a super fun night!!!

This December came and went in the blink of an eye, where did the time go. So much happened this month. At the beginning of the month Gerret's Mom came out to visit the little man and spoil him rotten, we couldn't object to that. It was so much fun to have her here and spend time with us as well. Gerret was fortunate enough to have two weeks of to spend with us, and boy were we SO glad to be able to spend that time with him. Connor got some great daddy bonding time, along with lots of nap time for both of them!
Christmas week was insanely busy it was go go go, the whole time. My brother Andy and his beautiful family came out from California to surprise my parents for Christmas. We also had an other family member move here from Utah which is really exciting! It's been the first time in several years since we have all been together. It really was a very special Christmas for all of us I would say. We were able to go to the Gaylord Texan to look at the Christmas decorations Gerret and I have made that a tradition since we have moved here and we love it. Absolutely gorgeous! We spent lots of time with my family and laughed and ate watched movies and laughed and ate took family pictures and ate more, went to the mall did some shopping and ate notice a trend here. Christmas day we went to Gerrets brother house for a grand Christmas breakfast and presents we have so much fun with them and are so glad his brother is out here. we then headed over to my parents house for presents and Christmas dinner... " the deep fired turkey" my dad is becoming and expert on cooking those birds and I must say it was amazing. The day after Christmas we had Connor's baby blessing it was such a beautiful and spiritual day we are so incredibly grateful for all the family and close friends that were able to share that day with us. After that we went to my parents house for a lunch in and had plenty more food their. I can say I am totally ready to drop the baby and holiday weight now;)
Unfortunate because we didn't take a whole lot of time to relax we all got sick over new years so we stayed in and tried to get over our colds. Poor Connor got a bad cold too and tested positive for RSV he hasn't had any breathing problems fortunately and seems to be getting better. We are keeping a close eye him though.
I am always sad when Christmas is over and the decorations come down. Its my favorite time of year not just for the family and presents and time off, but mainly because it's a time to focus on the birth of our savior, and to look for the opportunity to serve our brother and sisters and help

6 weeks and growing

Connor had his 6 week check up a few days ago. He is packing it on and becoming quite plump. We love it though!

He is 11 and half pounds
21 and half inches
In the 73 percentile for his weight and only in the 5th percentile for his head measurements. his head is still a little small but it will catch up soon. He is growing and doing very well.

We got his first smile on 11/17/11 finally. I fell in love all over again, I seem to do that every day as he changes right before my eyes. It's So cool to see the growth that he is having. It makes me realize how amazing the human body is and how we were created.

Welcoming Connor John Montgomery to the family October 11th 2010 born 5:55 Pm weighing 7 pound 5 oz and 20 1/2 inches and growing every day!

We adore this little man so much. He has totally and completely changed our lives for the better and we feel so blessed to have him. I would definitely say it's been an amazing and challenging start of motherhood as we both get to know each other. I wouldn't trade it for anything though.
My experience of labor and delivery was great I can't complain it went really well. I would do it again in a heart beat. I do attribute the positive experience though to my epidural. what a difference that made I will admit I am a wuss and didn't take the pain very well, but i am not trying to prove anything to anyone. It made the whole process peaceful; and relaxing and I am thankful for that.

We delivered at Baylor medical Center in Frisco and that was awesome. The nurses and Drs were Great they made the experience even better for us with there expertise and kindness. We look forward to having our next baby there in the future a few years from now;)

Between the sleepless nights and the demand of nursing I haven't had a whole lot of time to blog and when there is I would rather sleep. I will never take sleep for granted again for the rest of my life. Now that we are starting to fall into somewhat of a routine I will have more time to blog and post about our little man and the latest in the Montgomery lives.

California Trip

This is way late and I have been really bad about blogging, life has been very busy and i am glad to now have some time to post about what we have been up to. At the beginning of August Gerret and I were finally able to take a sweet vacation over to our trumping grounds to Carlsbad, where we spent lot's of time with family, friends and the beach. We left Texas at the right time when the temperatures exceeded well over a 100 degrees. August is the hottest month here so we picked a great time to leave. unfortunately we were really bad about taking pictures for some reason on this trip, but we got to do a ton of fun things like

Visit My cousins and family along with close friends in Arizonia on the way. Yes we did drive like crazy people there.

Go up to Huntington Beach to visit friends and return to the beach where Gerret proposed that's always fun!

Go to a concert in the park and see the local band called No Duh featuring all the no doubt music they weren't to bad.

Go to the Magic castle in LA. We have been trying to go there for the last 4 years now and fortunately we made it this trip thanks to our good friends Seth and Lindsey!

Had an amazing Baby shower from my mother in law and two awesome sister in laws! that was so much fun;)

I spent lots of late nights with some high school besties and caught up, man have things changed since high school. All for the better of course.

Ate at our favorite Mexican restaurants multiple times! Just can't get the same kind of Mexican food in Texas the way you can in California.

Went to Glendora and spent time with Gerret's grandma and Uncle

Had many wonderful meals from Gerret's Mom she is a great cook.

spent as much time as I could on the beach, that's what I miss the most about California other than some of my best friends. We really was spoiled growing up there.

Gerret and I haven't had a ton of time to explore Texas and we love traveling and venturing out to new areas. So Gerret decided this would be a great weekend to go I wasn't gonna argue with a trip out of town. We were very lucky to find a cheap hotel room off of price line. love that website! for $40 a night at a double tree Awesome we were excited. We had a great list from family and friends telling us what we had to do when we were there and restaurants to eat at. amazing suggestions that were so much fun thank you so much.

We went canoing on Barton Springs were they had plenty of snapping turtles and swans and all sorts of fish, Hiking at Zelik Park, and checked out the view at Mt Bonnell over lake Travis which was absolutely beautiful. toured the capitals Congress that is an amazing building. We enjoyed lots of yummy food at the Oasis restaurant that over looks Lake Travis and gives you this feeling like you not even in Texas. Had breakfast at Omeletree a very Hippie and natural breakfast cafe really good though. Of course we had to have dessert somewhere so we went to Amys ice cream kinda like Cold stone but way cheaper and very yummy. It was so nice to get away for a few days. Austin is a beautiful part of Texas to visit with lots of outdoor activities that is surrounded with hills, lakes and rivers I highly recommend visiting;) Thanks Babe for a great weekend getaway. Got take advantage of that while I still can!

We went to the Dr today to do our 20 week ultrasounds where they check for any abnormalities and scan and measure all the body parts see if that little person is healthy and all, oh and find out if it is a boy or girl.

It's a BOY!!!!

We are soooooo excited. I will admit I totally thought it was gonna be a girl ever since I found out I was Preggo, my first initial feeling was it's a girl. today I was told differently and I couldn't be happier about it. I am happy he is healthy and the Dr said everything looks great. During the ultrasound he wouldn't stop moving around so he was being a little tricky on the Dr when it came time to see the sex. So we don't have a very good picture of him to show. He seems to be a squirmy little guy. I have yet to really feel him and have that distinguished, yup that was it feeling, but I know once I feel it at one point I am gonna wish he would just sit still. Until then i will just keep woundering.
We are SO grateful for this amazing blessing in our lives and we look forward to meeting the little man that's gonna steal our hearts!

Turner Falls Park

It has been a long time since I had been camping. last time I went was young women's camp when I was 17, a few years have gone by since then. Gerret gets to go camping once a month with the young men's, so he gets his fill pretty often.
We decided to go to turner falls park in Davis Oklahoma with a few good friends a couple weekends ago. It was beautiful they had trails and natural pools to swim in complete with a slide and diving board. We Hiked down the falls which was a bit slippery cold, but so worth it. we got to enjoy in the typical camping food hot dogs, tinfoil dinner for some of us and peach cobbler from a dutch over which by the way was amazing Kylie good job on that one!
we stayed one night at the park in the best spot surrounded by trees and later on that night raccoons!
It was so much fun and the weather couldn't have been better. It was nice to get away from the flat lands of Dallas and see hills and giant rocks with caves. We will defiantly have to go camping again before it gets to hot to sleep outside.

Three Awesome Years!

This past Wednesday on St.Patricks day was our three Anniversary! We decided since I don't get Saturdays off we would both take the actual day off. It was SO nice to spend time together. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium. It was beautiful they did a great job with the facility, they are a little pricey since its somewhat small but still a fun thing to do in Dallas. We got to see all kinds of fish and birds and all sorts of other animals. We went to dinner at PF Changs which was SO yummy. All and all it was a great day and the newest addition to the Gorgueiro family was born Che Daniel Gorgueiro on our anniversary that is pretty Awesome!!! Congrats to Danny and Veronica and Che!

I am so thankful to my loving husband and the man that he is to me. I am so incredibly blessed to be able to share my whole life with him and SO much more. He inspires me to be a better person and is always there for me when things get rough and challenging. I love you Gerret thank you for being my best friend and everything else that I couldn't possibly describe. You are truly the most Amazing part of my life.

Indianapolis

A few months back I took a trip out to Lafayette Indiana to see my best friend Caiti from High school before she went on her mission to Anchorage Alaska. We hadn't seen each other in over 7 years We always kept in touch, but have lived in other areas of the country after we graduated. It was great to see here and her family again. We had some much needed girl time, got to have a a few bonfires go to lake Michigan and the most adorable town St.Joseph off of the great lakes. see downtown Indianapolis, visit an art museum and do a little shopping. Seeing lake Michigan was like being at the beach I loved it. We also had to take a picture with the corn I have never seen so many corn fields in my life, but that is mainly what they grow in Indiana. I had never been to the great lakes before and that was awesome they are enormous to see. Here a few pictures of the view. I would love to defiantly go back and visit it was so much fun!

It's been way to long

Wow I can't believe its been over three months since I blogged last. Work has taken over our lives and we are slaves to our jobs, but we love them and things are going great for us in the big D. We love our apartment, our ward and the family around us and the new friends we have made. We have officially lived in Texas a year now. Its gown on us quite a bit, I will admit its not as easy on the eyes as California is but the people are great and there is plenty to do around here. Although we don't have time to do much but look forward to trying out a bunch of things we are interested in. like Visiting San Antonio , Austin, the Aquarium, South Padre Island, the Stock yards and many, many more.
Since I blogged last Christmas has come and gone valentines day, My birthday and our three year anniversary is approaching fast! all these past holidays except the last one were awesome. We had Gerrets parents out here with us for Christmas it was great to see them and spend time together. Valentines day was relaxing. we had a steak diner and watched The Time Traveler wife while enjoying some yummy chocolate covered strawberries! All and all these last few months have been great! I have been a slacker about taking pictures so unfortunately I don't have any pictures to post maybe next time though.
Work has kept our schedule very full. Gerrets job is amazing and he feels SO blessed that he works for such a great business. He has been able to take on a incredible amount of responsibilities in addition to what he already does. So job security is what it sounds like to me. He is really enjoying all the work he does and the cool things he is learning along the way. My job at the spa is great we are a growing spa with lots of goals and I am happy to be apart of SO many events that we host and take care of in the Mckinney community. Spring and summer are some of the busiest times through out the year in this industry. I am looking forward to staying busy and meeting new people. We both are so grateful for our jobs and the way things have worked out since we moved to Texas. Hopefully I don't take three months to post my next blog but we shall see how that goes.

We've been up to a few fun things over the past month that we thought were noteworthy enough to blog about. A couple weeks ago, we saw Jim Gaffigan, the comedian, do a stand up routine at the Majestic Theatre in Dowtown Dallas. He was incredible!!! Pretty funny stuff huh? Well it was sooooooooo much better in person.

A couple of days ago Sarah got some free tickets to the Dallas Stars hockey game. It was a lot of fun and even went to a shootout, but Dallas lost, so oh well.

Summer Update

It has been quite a while since I have posted and I wanted to give a brief summer update on what we have been doing. Mainly Gerret and I are working hard at both of our jobs and enjoying what we do. We have finally gotten to explore a bit in the Dallas area and see what this huge city has to offer. So far we have gotten to check out the Fort worth Zoo, which was way fun. The animals were pretty lazy though. We didn't see a whole lot of activity, but it was cool to be somewhat up close with some of the worlds most dangerous animals. We were also able to go canoeing down the Brazos River with some friends. The river is about two hours from where we live. This was something I haven't experienced yet and it was so cool! We did an eight mile canoe ride down the river that took about three hours and enjoyed the scenery around us. There were plenty of trees and random cows close by. It was so peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely do it again.

No we are not moving again. Yeah right. We have had our share of moving for a while now. This post is just out of order. So while we were going out to California for my brother's graduation we decided it was the right time to move all our stuff out here finally. It's great to have our own belongings again. It felt like Christmas as we got to unpack our stuff. We love our place. It's awesome.

During our trip to Cali we got to catch up with some friends, go to the beach, eat at our favorite restaurant (Chins) and spend time with Gerret's family. It was a really fast trip, but great! On the way back to Dallas we got to stop in Phoenix for a few days and visit with Gerret's Sister Marcie and their new baby Ella and see some friends from New York. I just finished the interview process for People Report a few days ago and am pleased to announce that I am the 13th member of the People Report team. There were over 600 applicants for the postion, but they liked me, so I'm not going to complain. Sarah and I are very excited for this next step in our lives.

For a little background on the company, they are a company that has been around for a little over ten years and do the human capital analysis for food service companies, especially restaurant and fast food chains. They develop a quarterly report for each company to help them find ways to keep or hire the best employees and focuses on compensation and other monetary benefits. These things help companies see positive or negative trends so that they can keep doing what they are doing, or make necessary changes that will help the business grow. I am happy to be a part of the team.

First Tornado Warning......

Tuesday around nine thirty at night we were very focused on the evening news. Dallas was having a tornado yeah you heard me tornado warning I couldn't believe my ears either. I thought that they started in the spring. Well I guess they can come in the winter also. If the weather is right. So Gerret was trying to go to sleep because he of course had to get up before the butt crack of dawn. While in the process of going to bed we all heard the sirens go off. It was scary but Hilarius at the same time because Gerret bolted to the linen closet and some how got himself tucked into it for safe keeping. I had to get a picture of this. He looks very safe in that small space. No tornado touched down in Dallas but it did on the border of Oklahoma and fifteen people were killed by it. I have never in life heard rain come down so hard before and the wind was blowing so hard. By that point I was picturing myself back in California by the beach on a warm day. Nothing catastrophic happened but it was somewhat scary for us California's who have never been though that before. When have been though crazy bad snow storms in New York and fires in Cali but, first time for the Tornado warning. They say Dallas really doesn't have to many of them but those fifteen minutes while it was going one was intense. Then get this the next day 65 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Talk about sporadic weather.

Finally getting it together

Well I made it here alive to Dallas right before Christmas. let me tell you that trip is not to be repeated. look at the picture's below of what my car looked like with my stuff packed and my brother and his family's, oh yeah don't forget the Christmas presents too Jammed into any crevice or hole. We drove straight threw for a whopping 26 hours. Daren should win a prize for that drive. I will admit he did most of it. I know your thinking how dumb are they to drive straight threw well now I see we are pretty dumb for that one, but we had a deadline and needed to be here before Christmas and we were somewhat cutting it close. Christmas was really nice we spent most of the time at Eric and Amy playing games hang out and watching movies it was really nice to relax and play with Hannah and Austin they are getting so dang big. Amy thanks for having us all there It was really fun Christmas! I know you put a lot of work into everything especially the food witch was great. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year!

So now we are looking for a place to live . There are almost to many apartments to choose form here so we want to find the right deal and location. Gerret is working his butt off poor guy is pulling about 12 to 14 hour shift he's the walking zombie right now. I took a job back a Massage Envy until something better comes along. Iam still interviewing at various places here. chiropractors offices and other spa's. We really miss California, but we both feel good about the move everything has fallen into place the way we wanted them to seven months ago. It feels great to finally have that happen. The weather here is somewhat sporadic today its going to be 80 degrees. Some day's it feels like California. That's the latest with us right now we miss all our family and friends back where our hearts truly call home, But we are looking forward to experience Dallas for a while.

All I want for Christmas is...a job!

Guess Christmas came early this year because I found out today that I got the tax processing job at Pricewaterhouse Coopers that I interviewed for last week. The position won't start until January 5th, but I am looking forward to working for a very well-known company like PWC. For those who don't know, PWC is one of the big 4 accounting firms and is ginormous!!! It has a presence in about 150 countries and is very reputable. I am excited to be working for somebody I can trust. What a great way to finish off the year and start a new one. Thanks to all who have helped me in my job search here in Texas, and even though I am still looking for other great opportunities, it is nice to know that I have one in the bag already. Merry Christmas indeed!

Texas Here We Come!

For all of you who don't know yet, Sarah and I are moving to Texas! Well, technically I am already in Texas and have been since Monday, but Sarah will be here shortly when she drives out with her brother Daren and his family for Christmas. After a long and fruitless attempt at finding employment in Southern California, we decided an attempt at the less affected Dallas region was in order. I had my first interview already this week and it went great, so things are looking up. Although we will miss our friends in sunny Southern California, we know that there are new experiences and relationships in store for us in Texas. Both Sarah and I have brothers that live here in the Dallas region with their families and it will be great to see them much more often. We also will be staying with Sarah's parents until I can find employment and save up enough for an apartment of our own. We have mixed feelings about this move, but we both have an overwhelmingly strong feeling that this is the step we need to take right now in our lives. We appreciate the love and hospitality that my parents have shown us while we have lived with them over the past 5 months.

Sarah is looking forward to a well-deserved break from work once I get a job. She has been such an inspiration and blessing to me over these past months. She has been my beacon and my strength during this difficult time. I appreciate her more than can possibly be described for the amount of hard work that she has put in to keep us on our feet and I am so glad that she is such a good worker and has a job that she enjoys. I will always remember the sacrifices she has made in our behalf and I will make it up to her. She will have a sugar daddy very soon (I hope).

For all of those we have left behind, farewell. We love and will miss you. For those of you whom we will now see more often, we can't wait to see you and share this time of our lives with you. And to everybody, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thanksgiving

In the spirit of this Thanksgiving holiday, Gerret and I have soooo much to be thankful for. Even though it's hard at times to think of all the good things, we really are so blessed. We are grateful to have each other, to have a home to live in, and to have parents who love us. We are grateful to be able to have a job right now. I am so thankful to be able to practice massage and help people. We are happy to live near the beach. We are blessed to have the gospel in our lives. What comfort this brings to me, especially right now when there are so many things that are challeging us and the circumstances that we are in. We love all our family members and friends and cherish the relationships we have with all of you. We love and wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

I was really excited to try to make dessert for Thanksgiving this year. Those of you who know me well, know that I am not really an accomplished chef at all, but I was able to make this yummy pumpkin cheesecake and this is how it turned out.
It has whipped cream topping with toasted almonds and caramel topping. Mmmmmm, can't wait to eat it. I though it turned out pretty dang good. I am so proud of myself!...and Gerret.

Twilight Mania!

On Thursday night at midnight I was in line with about three hundred other chicks waiting to see the first showing of twilight. It was insane and funny to see how into it they all were. Everyone was screaming and giggling. There were so many twelve year old girls with their dads as their chaperone whitch was cute. He really took one for the team by taking all these screaming overly excited girls to see the movie.
Okay so I am anxious to see what everyone thinks of the movie. There was sooo much hype for this film. I liked it but was disappointed because no movie can really ever measure up to the book and how you play everything out in your mind. All the small details there vocies the way you imagin them to look all that good stuff. I know they tried really hard to capture all the highlighted points of the storyline but it just doesn't compare. I knew there was a good chance that I would be disappointed but was hoping for more. I want to hear what you all thought of the movie. Do you feel the same way or was it the best movie that you have ever seen like I know several chicks feel.

Last night we went to Knott's for their Halloween Haunt they have every year. It's fun and terrifying all at the same time. They pretty much turn the park into a party with all the decorations and mazes you can walk through. The only thing is they have plenty of characters with the scariest costumes walking around the park ready to chase you, stalk you, and make creepy noises in your face. I know you're wondering why on earth anyone would want to put themselves though that kind of terror. Well, it's just fun. Plus it's funny to watch random people get chased through the park. Well, that is until they turn around and come after you. It's all part of the fun for Halloween I guess. Here are some pictures we took of a few freaks walking around.

Okay so I love this time of year. The cooler weather, the rain storms. It just feels like the beginning of the year to me even though it's really not until January. I didn't really get a taste of what seasons were like until I lived in New York for over a year. Growing up in Southern California is great. Don't get me wrong here, I worship the ocean, but autumn in the New England area is absolutely amazing to see. Watching all the colors on the trees change and fall, school starting, the fall activities, the crisp air and apple picking. I fell in love with it. I am going to say I kind of miss New york right now. After all the anticipation of coming back to California and leaving New York, I am admitting what I though I wouldn't admit. I do miss New York this time of year.

It's been forever since I blogged and we have gotten to do a few things since then. This last week my cousin Serena got married in Arizona. It was a beautiful wedding and we are sooo happy for her and James. It was great to see some of the family while we were there. we were also able to see Gerret's Sister who just had her first baby Ella, she is adorable. Along with that we got visit some good friends from Cornell Todd and Abby we totally miss them.

Arizona was a much needed break from work even though its starting to slow down. I have been none stop this summer between both my jobs so it was great to get away for a little while. Unfortunatly I had to come home a bit earlier because I had some problems with my crown. I swear sometime I just want get ride of all my teeth and get Dentures. Yeah I know how bad that would be but teeth are so freaking expensive and such a hassle when problems do arise. plus it's always the most inconvenient time that it has to happen. So when I went into the dentist on Friday we both decided that it would be best if we just pulled the tooth. I had a crown on this particular tooth from a old root canal that I guess failed. Lets just say I will never and I repeat myself never be awake when I get a tooth pulled next time and hopefully there won't be a next time. It took him two and a half hours to pull this tooth it was needless to say absolutely miserable and painful. Why does it seem like all of us Gorgueiros have bad teeth and I take really good care of my teeth too. It must be the Genes that I inherited=( I wish I was able to return those pairs of genes for a full refund Ha Ha ha. Okay that was a lame joke but I know some of you completely understand.

It's Been A While

I wanted to catch up on some posting since it has been quite a while now. Gerret is back. He finished his assignment with homeland security and is looking for more permanent opportunities. He enjoyed the experience, but decided to stick to the business world instead of translating. I am soo very happy to have him back. I will be honest, it sucked when he was gone. I have been busy with work. La Costa gets some really big business groups in for conventions and they invade the spa, which is bitter and sweet. Bitter because i get booked with 6 to 9 massages a day, but sweet because I like the numbers on my paycheck! We have been dying to go to a Padre game this summer. I love Petco Park. It's really nice. I went to go see Phantom of the Opera. I never saw it before. I loved it and it was absolutely amazing. I wish I had a voice like the talented singers in musicals like that.

My good friend Kelly had her 24th birthday, so we decided to have a girls' night out, which was much needed and totally fun. We were shocked at the price we got at the Omni Hotel next to the stadium in the Gas Lamp District. It was only eighty dollars for a five star hotel. You don't run into that too often, and we had dinner at our favorite restaurant, Bucca Di Beppo! I finished the Twilight Saga and am sad to have it done with. I got the first book thinking, oh I can read while Gerret is gone, but I got so obsessed with the book I breezed through all four of them in about a week and a half. I love those books. It is such an easy read and easy to get into. I am thrilled about the movie and a second version that Stephenie Meyers is writing to the first book Twilight. It's called "Midnight Sun." It is Edward's point of view from the beginning. That is gonna be interesting! So that is the latest with the Montgomerys. Nothing too exciting. Just work and more work and the occasional fun times. We will keep you posted on what's next.

So Far Away Again

Sarah and I are once again distanced from each other for a short period of time, but it feels like an eternity. As some of you may know, I am working for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for about a month or two as a Cambodian linguist. So far it is a pretty neat job. I just listen to suspects' phone conversations and translate as necessary. I'm somewhat of a glorified voyeur. Ha ha.

It's a pretty nice arrangement here as well. All expenses are paid for except for food, which is very helpful at the present time. I am staying right in the very center of Philadelphia at the Marriott Residence Inn and although the amenities here are great, they really don't mean a whole lot without my sweetheart. I miss her so incredibly much, it's getting ridiculous. As the days go by I notice more and more things that I miss about her and I look forward to when she flies out to see me next month so she can get to experience Philadelphia. I am literally a couple blocks away from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell and I can look out my window and see city hall with a statue of William Penn on the top.

To Sarah, I love you. I miss you so much sweety and I appreciate how good you've been about this whole situation. You truly make me the happiest man alive. I don't know what I'd do without you. You are the best.

Gerret got a call yesterday from Homeland Security telling him to get ready he's leaving on sunday afternoon to go to Philidelphia for a few months. I was speechless when he told me Iam sooooo sad now I guess in my mind I figured that they were strining him along and that it wasn't going to happen and now he gonna be gone, Iam going to be husbandless for a few months man that sucks. I have to focus on the positive side of things he's working what a blessing especially right now when the economy is suffering greatly and thousands of people are being laid off. Its funny though that they can make things happen so incredibly fast when they want them to and in the mean time you just waiting hummmmmm is all I can say to that. Well that is the lastest we are excited to see where this going and where it will take us, hopefully not back on the east coast to live but I guess whatever. You gotta take what you can get right when the opportunity comes along right.

Every year my parents took us to the fair growing up and it has always stuck with me I love it. We made it this year for Dollar Tuesday and that rocks its perfect for our budget ha ha ha. Its just fun to run around and watch all the crazy rides and the near death experiences people are probably having on them. Some look so unstable and not safe I just can brave up enough to get on one. It fun to walk around and eat different horrible fried food, I only do that once a year and that only happens at the fair for me. This year we had fried zucchini and pastrami sandwiches it was so good and for desert Funnel cake for me that is the best desert ever invented strawberries and whipped cream it doesn't get any better than that. I also love all the different venues. they have some pretty cool things all the instant cleaner and cookers and jewelry oh and the petting zoo there are some of the most interesting animala there like the Lama never saw one up close until today. We made it to a hypnotise show that was great I wish I had some pictures of that, words can't describe the hilarious things he had people doing on stage. For example a 17 year old boy gave birth to a baby girl a panda if you can imagine how that is going to go down pretty interesting. All and out it was a great time at the fair. Iam so glad that we made it this year. last year we were in new york so the distance would be a bit more difficult to make for a fair.

When Gerret's parents came out for his graduation, we took them to Niagara falls and Palmyra, New York. It was Awesome it couldn't have been a nicer day. It is just amazing to see how much water acutally flows from the falls. It's amazing how incredibly huge they are upfront. Here are some pictures of the falls and the Sacred grove in the summer time. We also gave Gerret's parents the tour of Cornell's campus. It is such a beautiful place and it overlooks some cool scenery.

Things have been so crazy here for us. We have been in California a week now and haven't had time to post much, so I am getting to it now I guess. I started work again as a massage therapist at La Costa and it's great to be back, but just slow for now it should get busy as the summer goes on. Gerret got the job with the D.E.A and will be leaving within the next two weeks to Indianapolis, we are excited to see where the opportunity will take us and for the cool experience that Gerret will get to have.
We arrived in California on Monday, June 2nd, after our long drive across country. We were so excited to see the sign "Welcome to California" when we crossed the border. We are just so happy to be back and thawing out from the Ithaca winter. We drove from Ithaca, New York to Dallas, Texas and stayed with my parents for a few nights and then continued on to Scottsdale, Arizona where we picked up the moving truck from Todd and Abby Runyan. While there, we got to see Carlyn Swensen and Matt Coates (her fiance). It was a long drive, but went by fast and we are happy we made it safely. I will admit, it was a boring, flat drive 'till we got to the west coast. I forgot how many hills and elevation climbs there are while driving through the desert.
When we stopped in Texas we got to see my brother Eric and his family along with Gerret's brother Kurt and his family. We had a great time visiting with them. Our nieces and nephews were so excited to see Uncle Gerret and to hang all over him and play dress up with him. Gerret is such a good sport. He is gonna be such a great dad when the time comes.

Here comes the Graduate!!!

We finally made it to graduation. It was a perfect day the weather couldn't have been better. Not a cloud in the sky a slight breeze and the warm sun, the stadium was jammed packed. We had to get there about three hours early just to get a seat it was great.

I am so incredibly proud of you Gerret you did an amazing job this last year and a half and really faced some difficult challenges academically but pulled through and grew in so many ways. Iam so glad to have been here with you and watch you accomplish something great that will help you in our future in ways that we can't even imagine right now. I love you so much babe this has been an awesome year. Although it was tuff at times I am Lucky to have been able to share this with you.

The Best Feeling.....

So my last day at work was Friday May 16. For the last year I have been working at Cayuga Medical center as a hospital aide in the operating room. It was a very interesting experience needless to say i have seen some very scary and unusual things there. I am soooooo happy to say that i finally don't have to work there any longer, most know that i hated my job I was very mistreated and stretched to the max. They were really short staffed so I had to do more work than I should have had for the position that I was in. Ithaca really doesn't have many jobs, so you either work at the hospital or Cornell not much to choose from.

I ended up with the hospital believe me I would have left after the first month but it's SO incredible hard to find jobs in this town when you find something you have to keep it. It was the best feeling to me to walk out those door and know I never have to come back and work there again it was priceless to me, Iam sure for those who have had to deal with a job that you just despise completely understand the feeling, it's great!!.

I did meet some really cool people though that made the difference for me while working at the hospital. We went out for a little goodbye party on Friday night. Aside from all the negative comments I have made in the past about this place I will miss some of the people that I worked with. Thank you so much for helping me get through this year at work, I can honestly say it was one of the hardest and emotional jobs I have ever had.

Happy Happy Birthday Gerret!

It was on Monday May 5 Cinco De Mayo! We where able to do a surprise birthday BBQ party for him without him finding out, which was awesome. He was completely clueless and didn't even see it coming. I will admit I am proud of myself for keeping it a secret, well i only had to keep it a secret for 24 hours but that was hard enough. I can't hold stuff like that in it's just to hard for me plus I just get to excited to have it happen already. Thank you all for making this work out so well in such short amount of time. the only thing i didn't do was take pictures of everything so I only have one picture, I will have to try to snag some from other people. I know this is written past Gerrets Birthday but I wanted to post it anyways. We have been so incredibly busy with work for me and school for Gerret that I haven't had the time to do much with the post so better late then never right.

We are on the count down only 17 day left and two finals for Gerret till we leave Ithaca New York and start on our long drive back to sunny San Diego which we are happy to announce that we are moving back to. Unfortunately we are still figuring out the job situation so until then we will keep you posted.

Okay so there are somethings that we will miss about Ithaca the summers are amazing this is the time to be here, all the out door activities that you can do the hikes the lake the gorges it really is fun, the fall is beautiful there is just so many colors everywhere, and most importantly the friends and relationships that we have created while here at Cornell. We are so thankful for the friends that we have made here I don't know what we would have done with out them especially through the 7 months of the insane winter here. We will miss you terribly=(..

Boston Trip!

We decided to go to Boston for the end of our spring break this last week. We needed to get out of Ithaca and have some new scenery, plus it was our one year anniversary! Our good friends Ben and Lexie came too. We had a great time and I must say it was a trip to remember. We started off in Salem, Massachusetts and went to the Salem witch museum and learned about how witches were prosecuted for the Salem witch trials. That was interesting because there were a bunch of girls who had nothing better to do than to go around pretending to be possessed and accusing people of practicing witchcraft and then the accused ended up getting hanged. Pretty sick huh?
We had lunch at "Cilantro", the best Mexican Resturant we've had in a while. You can't find authetic mexican food in Ithaca. We went to "The Tomb", which was an interactive Egyptian adventure where you have to figure out with your group how to decode riddles and challenges presented by the Pharaoh by using all your wits. That was really fun, I enjoyed it, and I recommend it if you ever go to Boston. We walked on the Freedom Trail, had lunch at Cheers, where everyone knows your name, but that was a lie cause no one knew our names; what a joke...... We went through Paul Revere's house, went to the U.S.S. Constitution museum, and saw the naval ships in the Harbor. We then had dinner in Little Italy where everyone looked like they were related in the restaurant, toured Harvard, and went to the Boston Temple for pictures. We walked around Fenway Park where Babe Ruth and Ted Williams played. It was cool because everything was still authentic looking, and we wish we could have gone to a game. That would have been awesome. Well, I could safely say by the end of the trip that both Lexie and I were set on moving to Boston. It's a beautiful city with so much to do, and eat, and there is great shopping as well. Unfortunately, we weren't able to do much shopping considering the fact that we are still poor college students. Here are some pictures of our trip. Hope you enjoy them.

One Year Anniversary

Wow, today is March 17th, St. Patrick's Day, which iss our one year anniversary. I can't believe how fast the time flies. It has been one crazy and great year here in New York. I remember this time last year I was freaking out to move across the country to a place I had never heard of before and for what? Only the best guy ever! I am so grateful for Gerret and the man that he is and for allowing me to grow while having the patience that he has with me. I can be a really pessimistic person and a pain in the butt and he completely balances me out. I have truly been blessed to have him in my life and nothing has been the same since we starting dating pretty much at my brother Danny and Veronica's wedding. Life has only gotten better from that day on and continues to do so. I know this is kind of a corny tribute to my Husband but I really am just the happiest girl in the world to have him by my side. He makes every day full of laughs and great times and for those of you who know me well, that is one of my favorite things to do, just being able to laugh. He is so smart and such a hard worker. I have honestly never seen someone pull so many all-nighters. Between working technically two jobs (the sorority and the library) and taking 17 units at Cornell... you must be out of your mind or an incredible worker. I know that all his hard and diligent work and efforts will pay off in the long run.
Here is a little history about Gerret and me. We have known each other since we were in seventh grade and we were in the same family ward back in Carlsbad. In high school I had the biggest crush on him. He was a football player, really smart and really, really good looking and he of course was Mr. Popular. Everyone loved him. I was non-existent at this time of his life and I never would have thought at that point that I would end up marrying him. Heavenly Father really does have a plan for everyone. It has been amazing with him by side so far. Yeah, so we aren't the perfect couple but I feel I have the perfect guy for me and am so grateful for him every day. Happy Anniversary Gerret! Thank you for everything that you are and do!

Palymyra Temple

So Carlyn, a good friend of ours, came to visit for her spring break and she had never been to the Palmyra Temple or the scared grove, so we decided to take a trip up there, plus it had been a while since we had gone. It was cold and there was snow on the ground, so everything looked dead, but the grove that you can walk through still has an amazing spirit about it. Everything feels so still and peaceful, and it is just so awesome to think that that is where everything started with Joseph Smith and restoring the church. To think how far it has come and how much has been accomplished by prophets thereafter is pretty dang amazing to me. I am so grateful for the opportunity to live so close to Palmyra. There is so much church history here. We also got to go to Palmyra's Hill Cumorah visitors center where they had an exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls. We didn't get to take pictures, but it was still pretty cool to hear the history of the scrolls and all the translation that they are working on. They have also allowed LDS scholars to do research on the scrolls as well. It is so fascinating to me that we can come across something so ancient and historical in our time that has such an incredible amount of meaning for our future. Winter Festivities!

So there was a really bad snow storm all today and going on tomorrow. We officially had a snow warning here in Ithaca, and i will have to admit for the first time i really liked this storm. I didn't enjoy driving in it of course, but the fact that the snow was soft and fluffy (the good kind of snow). So what did we do? We made a snow man, the first snow man we have ever made. Living in Southern California your whole life you really don't get that opportunity too many times. It was great! I loved it, but it's harder than you would think. Maybe it's just me, I am no snow man expert, but it took us a little over an hour to do that. Maybe I shouldn't admit that, but oh well, we had a good time.
Last weekend we went Ice Skating with our friends Ben and Lexie, also known as "Bexie". I haven't been in like three years, so it was time I tried, and that didn't really work in my favor. I have to remember to not walk on the ice but more like glide on the ice. Gerret is a really good ice skater i would have never thought that, he had some good moves! well to all who live in warmer climates don't take it for granted, cause you can just think about how Gerret and i are freezing out butts of in Ithaca right now.

Birthday Dinner!!!

So my Birthday was this last Tuesday February 12 And when i woke up it was about negative 17 with wind chill and there was a really bad snow storm the kind with freezing rain while mixing with snow so your car has the potential to just slid right off the road yeah lots of fun... so it was not the sunniest birthday i have had, Plus i had to work at the Hospital and the Sorority so it was an uneventful day for me but this weekend we celebrated we went to Outback Steak house with some friends of ours Todd and Abby, it was Abby's birthday on the 13 so we figured we should celebrate together we had a good time! I had never been to Outback i know its kinda sad cause its a good resturant so we will be going again some time, thanks for a great birthday dinner Gerret!

Okay so i have been really bad about writing in our blog probably because gerret is always the one to do it so i am gonna try to be better about updating. So this is the latests about whats going on in Ithaca New York we have about 14 weeks till graduation but who counting... we still have no idea what we are gonna do when that time comes we want to move back to california but we dont know we could literally end up anywhere. we are narrowing it down to either California, Arizonia or Texas we figure that is so much warmer then what we have expeienced here in New York the thresh hold of hell and excuse me when i say that but i have never in my life felt cold weather or how brutally painful the wind can be when its -8 degrees outside and your whole body just hurts and feels like a ice cube.

Work for me is going well but iam looking forward to not having to work there any more and get back to doing what i enjoy Masage therapy Its what i know best. Well we are definatly excited to finally be at the point to get to figure out where we are going and what we are doing we have worked so hard to get to this point and its nice to see the light at the end of the tunnel. we will keep you posted on where we are going and whats next.

Merry Cripas & Happy New You

In case you're wondering about the title, I got a text message from my older sister Marcie Shuman saying that I used to say Merry Cripas and a Happy New You when I was just a little guy.

Fall semester is over and Sarah and I took some time off and drove, yes drove to Texas for Christmas and New Years. We were there almost two weeks and had a great time visiting with family. Sarah's parents and sister Mary moved from their house in Carlsbad, CA to Mckinney, TX. They like their new ward and enjoy the opportunity to see their son Eric, his wife Amy, and 2 kids Hannah(4) and Austin(18 months) more often. We also visited Eric's family a few times and hung out with my brother Kurt, his wife Natalie, and 3 girls Lauren(8), Kaitlyn(6), and Caroline(4). They were tons of fun to hang out with. Its always great to be around family for the holidays, especially since we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere here in New York.

While there we looked at homes that Sarah's parents are looking to buy and looked at apartments in case we move to Texas after I graduate. We also went to the Gaylord Resort and checked out all the Christmas decorations and it was awesome. They went all out and spared no expense on decorations and everything. There were a lot of lights in other places as well and it was a lot of fun. We hope everybody had a Merry Christmas and we wish you a Happy New Year. Enjoy the pictures.

Flag Football Champions!!!

During this semester I have been a part of the greatest flag football team ever known to mankind. With a flawless record this season, scoring 263 points in 8 games and only allowing 18, we reign as champions of the Cornell flag football league.

It was a very fun season and we were also a part of the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) Regional Flag Football Tournament hosted by Cornell University. Our team played in 4 games last Saturday and won all of them except for the first. The quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship games were all played on Sunday, so we forfeited our chances of winning it all. We can only speculate on how well we would have done had the rest of the tournament not been on Sunday, but our team is very confident that we could have won it all. This is a year we will never forget!

Scranton Trip

This last Saturday, the 27th of October, Sarah and I, along with the Carlos's and Prices, went to Scranton, PA for an Office party. The hit TV show The Office, had a convention in Scranton this weekend where fans could come meet the cast members. Sarah and I saw many of them, including Jan, Phyllis, Bob Vance "Vance Refridgeration", Andy, Angela, Kelly, Oscar, Daryl, Kevin, and Merideth. We took pictures with Jan, Phyllis, and Bob Vance "Vance Refrigeration". Overall, it was a great time and a great party. There aint no party like a Scranton party 'cause a Scranton party don't stop!

We're Married!!!

Wow, so we are married and so far so good! Ithaca is quite the change from good old Carlsbad, but Sarah is going to be open about it and enjoy it. It was pretty nice here in Ithaca right after she got here, but right now it is a little bit snowy and still pretty cold. The apartment has gone through a complete transformation from bachelor-pad status to home status and we appreciate all those who contributed to that through gifts and gift cards. We have received so much support from everyone and we want everyone to know that we are very happy and loving life. Sarah is already getting to know some people in the Cornell Student Branch and has had a couple of interviews already for receptionist positions. She is looking forward to having a job sometime soon. In the meantime, Sarah has had a couple of opportunities to give massages to some people here in Ithaca and her name is spreading already.

I am back in school and everything is going great in that department. I did well in my Biology test last Thursday and have two more tests in the next two weeks. There are only a few more weeks left of school so it is winding down and at the moment I have 3 A's and a B/B-. I am looking forward to the semester being over and enjoying a summer in Ithaca. I will be looking for a job during the summer in order to earn some money before the Fall semester, because I will be taking 18 credits and be very busy with my school work.

We just want everybody to know that we are doing well, everything is coming into order, and we couldn't be happier. We are enjoying married life and the chance to be with each other so much more. We love you all and will write again soon. Enjoy the pictures!

Welcome To Our Blog!

Well, it's 16 days until Sarah and I get married and everything is going great and falling into place. Sarah was able to sell her car, which definately took a load off of her shoulders. She has one more week of work in California before she is officially "unemployed". She is a little nervous about finding a job out here in Ithaca, but she knows that it will all work out in the end.

Sarah went through the temple for the first time for her endowment on Friday, February 23rd and enjoyed the spirit and beauty that prevails at the temple. Later that evening she finally got a chance to meet some of my brothers and sisters who live farther away and we all had a good time at Marcie and Scott's rehearsal dinner.

On Saturday we had a chance to go down to the temple again for Scott and Marcie's sealing and it was a wonderful ceremony. The spirit was so strong and both Scott and Marcie looked so happy. They are perfect for each other. Sarah was really excited that she was able to see a sealing before ours in almost 2 weeks. It was a good experience for her. After the reception, we went up to the BlueWater Grill in Santa Ana where I used to work for dinner with our friends Seth and Lindsay Cutrell and had a great time with them.

Unfortunately I had to leave Sarah again on Sunday evening and it was sad for both of us, but we are looking forward to when we don't have to be apart any more. I am back here in Ithaca now and just took a Biology exam and I think it went well. I have an Economics exam tomorrow that I am studying for tonight and hopefully that will go well too.

The weather is warming up a bit and is in the mid 30's during the daytime and the snow is finally starting to melt. I am hoping that by the time Sarah and I get back from our honeymoon to DisneyWorld that most of the snow will be gone and it will be welcoming weather for her. For those who haven't seen them yet, the pictures below are from the crazy snow/ice storm that came down on us here in Ithaca. It was pretty bad.
